Inspired in New York. Built in Austin. Now dreaming even bigger.

Alexa James Baby started eight years ago when Karina moved from New York City to Austin with her daughter and went looking for the kind of store she had always loved back home — a beautifully edited children's boutique where everything felt chosen, nothing felt random, and walking in felt like a small occasion in itself.

Austin did not have it yet. So she built it.

She sourced European children's brands from Copenhagen, Paris, and beyond — makers who shared her belief that children's clothing should be crafted from natural materials, made with care, and chosen with real intention. Every piece individually selected. Every corner of the store merchandised with purpose. A real destination, in a city that was ready for one.

What grew over eight years became something neither of us could have fully predicted. Alexa James Baby became Austin's go-to children's boutique — the store families return to for every milestone, that customers travel from other cities to visit, and that even New Yorkers now say they cannot find anything like back home. A curated children's clothing destination with a community to match.

And then we found each other.

When the two of us came together, something clicked into place that neither of us had alone. We looked at what Alexa James Baby had become and we both saw the same thing at the same time — this brand is not finished. It is ready for the next dream.

Ready for more cities. Ready for a baby gift concierge experience that makes giving something beautiful as effortless as it should always have been. Ready for private shopping events, personalization, and an online presence that finally reflects everything this Austin baby boutique has always felt like in person. We are building all of it — together, from an amazing foundation, as partners with different strengths and one shared vision.

The last eight years were spent learning every European children's brand we carry, every maker, every customer by name. Now we are focused on the strategy, the structure, and the clarity of the brand and choosing to bet on it. Together we are the things the other was missing. Together this works in a way that neither of us could have made happen alone.

The soul of what was built here has not changed. The obsession with finding the most beautiful, most thoughtfully made children's clothing and baby gifts in Austin — and now well beyond Austin — has not changed either.

What has changed is the size of the dream. And the fact that now there are two of us dreaming it.

Austin is where it started. We cannot wait to show you where it is going.
